Monsters vs. Aliens is being touted as a homage to B sci-fi movies from the past such as Mothra, Attack of the 50 ft. Woman, Creature from the Black Lagoon and of course! the meetings the government officials have are styled after Dr. Strangelove!
I made mental notes of what made me laugh but I forget. Never a knee-slapper but more like a "aha" chuckle here and there. There was a couple of references to Hawking ("...time to throw out Hawking's chair"), Space Balls, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which i saw on dvd and found it to be amazing! go watch THGTTG.
Oh and after Reese Witherspoon's bridezilla character is beamed up by Galaxar (Rainn Wilson), she is wearing the most amazing suit. and a funny thing i noticed was when shown a closeup of Galaxar's clones, you see that their luke skywalker tunics are made of GLITTER! and other such sparkly material.

oh i definitely had sum lul-momentz during the movie! isn't it funny how the actors/actresses sourcing the voices often look like their cartoon counterparts?
