water table
But some nights, I must tell you,
I go down there after everyone has fallen asleep.
I swim back and forth in the echoing blackness.
I sing a love song as well as I can,
lost for a while in the home of the rain.

to ever fall in love with the sadness of another

medium
I want to write with the least control,
one finger on the steering wheel,
I want to hold the pen lightly
I want to write on air
as in the rapid language of signs,
Most of all,
I want to write on your skin
as children do in summer at the beach
oh, to read with your eyes shut tight,
kneeling in the sand, facing the open sea.
